Time Management aside, I thought it would be a good idea to confront some of the issues faced when working from home and look at solutions to keep them in line.
We all love the idea of working from home and many of us build our online dreams part-time around our day jobs. We may even wonder why progress is so slow and even stagnated.
Having good time management is one thing but what about the other obvious reasons that can cause us to drag our feet.
Just what gets in the way while working from home and how to find solutions to solve some of the most time-consuming issues.
With some thought and forum communications, these are some issues that some of us face.
The Mindset Withdrawl One of the Big Issues Faced when Working From Home.
Is it no wonder that when we are at home in our own safe environment that we just naturally relax and tune out of life’s stresses. We slow down and just go into chill mode. We slow down so much that we may just have trouble finding the energy or the motivation to write that blog post or work on the business that is in set up mode online.

Hay there is always tomorrow, right?
Have you ever heard of the saying that tomorrow never comes?
So What is the Solution? How can you jump-start yourself into action?
You need to stay switched on.
Because you do not have a boss or a paid schedule and because you are in your relaxed home environment, you have to make a conscious choice to get things done. To chase your dreams This means being active, focused, tuned in, and determined that you will succeed. Stop everything, use your diary, and complete and tick off steps of progress. Even small steps in the right direction. The trick is to actually do those tasks.
Keep your eye on the ball and chase down your goal. Make a poster of your ultimate outcome and stick it on the office wall so you are pumped and inspired to reach that finish line.
You need to take action and you need to keep yourself, keen, fresh, and motivated with your eye on the target.
The Internet Itself Can Side Track Your Efforts Create many of the Issues Faced when Working from Home.
Oh, Dear do not get me started.
This is possibly the biggest hurdle of all to overcome. The Internet. As soon as you log on you are opening yourself up to a maze of avenues that may just keep you going in circles for the day.
Here are the Big Time Wasters to Avoid. Solve online problems and solutions.
Emails–
If you have been around for a while and especially if you have signed up for various affiliate programs and products then you may have noticed that your emails are bombarding you with fake promises daily. A lot of top affiliates make their money from preying on wannabe affiliates. I myself have been around the block with these dudes and it is not only a huge waste of your time but can also take the wind from your sails, and hurt you emotionally as well as in the pocket especially when you soon realize that you have been misled. This can also drain your enthusiasm.
Your email account may be costing you dearly in wasted time.
What’s the solution
Best action
Clean it up-
Unsubscribe to everything that is not of benefit to you or related to your online business. This may take you an hour or two but you will be saving yourself so much time and wasted energy in the future.
Social Media.-
The good bad and the ugly of social media and the time spent on these websites can be a major issue when working from home.
We have all spent hours staring blindly at the feed on our social media pages. How could we not? There are some great posts to view and I guess some funny and some shocking posts also. But have you ever noticed how Facebook is very good at feeding you what they know you have an interest in.? Of course with careful planning, you can use this to your advantage but there is a fine line between benefiting from posts on your social media to just blowing your precious time.
So How Do You Get a Hold on Your Social Media Accounts.?
You could go through and request to see less of feed that is not beneficial to you. Or the best way is to avoid even going there, or at least control time spent on social media websites.
There are various ways and means to have posts from your blog automatically sent to your social media accounts cutting out the middle man. The middle man is you. That way you do not open the door to such distractions allowing yourself plenty of time to continue with what is important. This also ensures that your posts get through fast and efficiently. So you could clean it up, automate it and avoid visiting these websites when you do not need to.
There are many websites that offer a service to enable you to automate your social media accounts. Some paid and some are free. You need to run a search and review to find the best one for you.
I signed up for the free account at MailChimp which is a website that is often mentioned in ebooks and on courses that I have signed up to online.
Top Tip
I also feel the need to mention that Canva is also a great help with social media. I signed up for the free option at Canva and I love this website. You can create really good content on this website and hook it up to send directly to your social media accounts. Efficient and fast to use. Enhance your online business easily with this website. I use it every day.
If your business is leaping ahead and you can afford a good social media manager then even better.
Online Shopping
An enjoyable and easy distraction. I can relate. The only way to avoid this is by setting shopping time, being self-disciplined, and sticking to it.
There are many time wasters online right down the very technical side of websites and computers that can interrupt the day. Some of these are unavoidable and just need to be sorted asap.
At home
Let me see, the kids, the phone, unexpected visitors, the radio the dog. TV. These are just some of the issues faced when working from home.
The simple fact of just not having to follow a routine as you would with working outside of work means that you need to set a good routine and stick to it the best you can.
All of these things can get in the way of progress and also stuff up your time management routine. Don’t let these stress you out. Sometimes we do have to work around certain events that just pop up unexpectedly.
The main thing is to remember where you’re going and continue to work towards getting there no matter what.
It can be done.
Ebooks are a great way to train.
